“Stop….Drop….Shut ’em Down…We Closin’ Up Shop…”
Honestly… I feel like I was lied to. “It’s not that bad,” they said. “A couple of days, and you’ll be as good as new,” they claimed. Well…. it’s been two weeks, and “as good as new,” I am not.
Don’t get me wrong… the actual procedure was bad, but it wasn’t that bad. They instruct you to take some meds prior to the procedure, and those got me through just fine. I also have to brag on all of the people involved with the procedure; they were amazing. If I had to do it again, I would definitely want the same medical professionals present.
The recovery has been a roller coaster ride. Scratch that. Just thinking of a roller coaster hurts.
The good news: It’s done. Over. Finished. Wrapped up. All that.
In a few weeks, I will return to the doctor and he will hopefully inform us that there is zero chance of us having any more children. Fingers crossed.
All we can do now is look back and be grateful for what my vasa deferentia have given us: four amazing children that bring a sometimes overwhelming amount of joy to our lives.
During my research on how to make “vas deferens” plural for this blog post, I learned that vas deferens is Latin for “carrying-away vessel.” I think it is safe to say that my vasa deferentia most definitely got “carried away” this last go round.
For now, I’ll just leave it at that. You guys take care. And how ’bout me being able to write an entire post on a vasectomy without ever having to use the word “vasectomy.”
Damn. Almost made it.
