Ain’t no Lovey Like the One We’ve Got…
As we prepare to take the biggest journey yet, we MUST pause for the cause and take a second to wish Lovey a spectacularly happy 4?th birthday!!! Our children are beyond lucky to have two amazing grandmothers in their lives, and the one we call “Lovey” is celebrating her 4?th year on this wild planet. Anyone that has found themselves within a six-mile radius of Lovey has heard about her grandchildren and seen hundreds of pictures of them on her cell phone. It may take a while to swipe through all of the photos, but it takes a mere second to realize how much she cherishes her grands. Happy Birthday,…

We’ve Done Gone Viral, Ya’ll…
It hit Mama out of nowhere Monday afternoon. It whooped up on Daddy early Tuesday morning and on into that evening. Big Brother experienced the wrath Wednesday and Thursday, and there was no dodging the powerfully potent punch the stomach virus landed on the Triplets toward the week’s end. For many, it was the week of the Kentucky Derby. For us, it was the week of Upchuck Then Hurry (Hurry and clean up the vomit, because the next onslaught will come from another direction and be a whole heckuva lot browner). Although our scrum with the stomach virus was something that I hope we don’t have to deal with again…

Duet to It…
When Abbey was on bed rest during our first pregnancy with Moss, I sometimes had to get creative with ways to cheer her up and keep her laughing. Luckily, this was also right around the time that Smule was released. You remember Smule: the app that allowed users to collaborate with other users and produce music videos. One user would record their part, send it to another user, and the second user would fill in the blanks with their part. One night, I decided to download it. I have had the privilege of playing music and singing with some downright cool and amazing people. The majority of the time, these…

What’s Your Superpower?
One superpower that I am most proud of is my ability to tell if 12-13 year olds REALLY (and I mean REALLY) have to go to the restroom during class. How it Works: Whenever a middle schooler asks me if they can use the restroom during class, I do a quick analysis of the student. Typically, I reply with, “You do not have to use the restroom” accompanied by my best Jedi-Mind-Trick stare. Ninety-three percent of the time, this is all I have to do; they sit down with a somewhat defeated look on their face. The other seven percent of the time, I am met with rebuttal and a…

Tellin’ ’em…
Okay. This was the most fun I have had in a while sitting at a computer. It’s been nearly a year since we revealed to the world that we would be having triplets. I remember watching these reaction videos back then and realizing how amazing our friends are. I told Abbey to save the videos, because I just knew that we could do something cool with them one day. That day has come. Backstory: In order to make the telling of our friends as easy as possible, we decided it would be best (and fun) if we made a video and texted it to all of them. There were rules…

Flashback to the Reveal…
Rewind to April 24, 2018. This was the day that we found out the genders of our triplets. Abbey had gone to B’ham and brought back the results in a sealed envelope. The following video shows us discovering the genders for the very first time. Watch the video, then read the rest…. NOTE: I think that the pollen count was abnormally high at this time, and there was definitely some dust off up in my eye. This video is proof of several things: The ultrasounds were correct, and we now have three beautiful babies (two boys and a girl!)… It also proves that women cannot stand waiting. Surely you caught…

“If music be the food of love…”
Play on. As I was rocking my beautiful daughter back to sleep this afternoon, I caught myself thinking about the songs that my wife and I choose to sing to our children. Whether we are playing, eating, partying, or relaxing, it seems like there is always an accompanying soundtrack playing throughout our life. The song that I have sung to our kids the most, by far, would probably be one of the last tunes from Widespread Panic’s ‘Til the Medicine Takes called “Nobody’s Loss.” I can’t remember the first time I sang it to my oldest son, but it’s hard to remember a time that I was not at least humming…

…and triplets make six.
So….we’re gonna give it a go. We are going to attempt to document and provide commentary for this wild adventure that is our life… one post at a time. Let it be known that in no way whatsoever are we claiming to be superheroes (although sometimes we are) and we’re not proclaiming to be any different than every other parent that reads this. Truth be told, we are flying by the seats of our pants. The only thing that we can confidently say, without a single doubt, is that we are proud, semi-new owners of the largest 24-hour, full-service milk restaurant in the neighborhood. Currently, we change diapers…LOTS of diapers.…
